Since graduating from the University of Brighton with an MA in Sequential Illustration, I have developed a style that is traditionally hand drawn and painted and crafted with only the slightest of digital enhancement.
My work has been featured in publications such as Time Out, The Guardian, New Scientist, and Dazed & Confused. I have also worked with a number of publishing houses including Oxford University Press, Harcourt and Magination Press and for record companies such as Rough Trade, Sony Entertainment and Virgin. My illustrations have also been used in many other ways including music videos, promo advertising, production design and children’s picture books.
My work is influenced by various artists and disciplines and I take direct inspiration from the work of painters such as Kathe Kollwitz, James Ensor, Otto Dix, Francis Bacon, Paula Rego, illustrators such as Maurice Sendak, Edward Gorey, Chris Ware, Seth, Dave Mckean and film makers such as David Lynch, Park Chan Wook, Roman Polanski, Paul Thomas Anderson and Stanley Kubrick.
