About Artist

Petula is a designer-maker who creates limited editions and bespoke apparel pieces for discerning individuals who often feel sidelined by the fashion industry and want an alternative to what is available in the marketplace. The work she creates is marketed under her micro women's wear line VUSA.
VUSA is driven by a strong ethos in Sustainability. It celebrates traditional skills such as pattern drafting, sewing and upcycling. Petula synthesis those elements to produce quirky contemporary pieces.
All of VUSA's clothing is exclusive, so once the items are sold it's gone!
Brief History
Petula is a graduate of Winchester School of Art with a Degree in Fashion and Textiles Design. She has a total of 20 years experience working as a Pattern drafter and textile designer for various established clothing brands in London and Nigeria.
The idea for her self-employment came about in 2011 while she was working as a Creative Pattern Drafter for a fashion house based in Abuja Nigeria. (MOMO Couture) Athica Annba was founded in 2014 and became VUSA in 2015.
Between 2014 – 2016 Petula worked on developing VUSA from scratch in The Gambia, West Africa and her independent business is still in its start-up stage.
Petula relocated her design studio to London in 2017. She currently teaches Alterations and Upcycling at Harrow (ACL).
