About Artist

I focus on live performance, drawing in response to activity. Dance is my stimulus, I draw during rehearsals and performance. The drawings are raw and in the present, capturing fleeting moments and traces of energy with expressive gesture. Large sheets contain fast action led drawings in charcoal, pastel and paint. Small pencil sketch-books are intimate journeys.
The drawings inform oil and acrylic paintings on canvas created in my studio and etchings made on site in the Thames Barrier Print Studio.
I create figurative life-size and larger wire sculpture as individual commissions and to be used on stage as part of the performance.
Recent commissions include large painted Backdrops for Contemporary Dance performances.
