Anthology Deptford Foundry

Working with new London developers Anthology, Spring 2018 will see SFSA expanding artists' studio provision into Deptford. 75+ new purpose built ground and first floor spaces.

  • 30,000 sq ft of affordable workspace for artists, craft makers and designers providing creative sector employment space [GLA Economics London Creative Sector Note 33.]
  • Creative workspaces to provide social and cultural value to the new Anthology Deptford Foundry residential development
  • Artists have long been part of Deptford’s thriving, creative and diverse community. SFSA - Deptford Foundry Studios will continue that tradition within the area, encouraging creative use of space by artists for many years to come

ArtPlatform

ArtPlatform exists to facilitate the sale of art in support of artists, charities and charitable aims. Everyone can own and enjoy original art through our annual fundraiser, selling A5 pieces of work for £20 each.

The Challenge

The Challenge Network is a national charity that was founded in 2009. Their mission is to connect and inspire people to strengthen their communities, bring together local people across all generations, ethnic groups and incomes to build a stronger society. SFSA works with local Challenge representatives facilitating group studio visits, talks, demonstrations, sharing information and introductions to opportunities in the arts, crafts and design sectors.

Crafts Council

SFSA has supported the Crafts Council Hothouse programme for the past 2 years by offering participants on leaving the programme a 50% discount on studio rentals for year 1 of their professional practice with kind funding sponsorship from Emafyl Properties

Hothouse provides 40 emerging makers (those defined as being within two years of setting up a practice) with a programme of focussed, intensive business skills and creative development, complemented with 1:1 support over a three month period

SFSA are very pleased to announce their new strategic partners, John Jones – London - the UK's leading supplier of artists surfaces, frame design, fine art conservation, art installation and collection management.

John Jones are offering all SFSA members a permanent 10% discount on all JJ Artists Surfaces and access to all JJ professional development workshops.

SFSA will be discussing the possibility partnering with JJ on their new project space soon to be delivered within their new Art Building in Finsbury Park - creating cross site collaborations, exhibitions and artist’s residencies. More on this shortly.
