Kim Vousden is a typographer, designer and printmaker working across digital and relief printing techniques. For ten years she has practiced as a letterpress printer, which informs many aspects of her work.
Her practice revolves around the interplay between type and image, or type as image. Sharing her studio with a Vicobold—a c.1950s parallel-approach platen printing press—and Farley galley proofing press, she is fascinated by how the nature of the tools we chose
to create with influence our patterns of thinking.
Within the fields of typography and letterpress printing, Kim has taught or demonstrated at institutions including Birkbeck University of London, The Sir John Cass School of Art, Architecture and Design, St Bride Library, William Morris Gallery and the Bodleian
